Your Delegates will LOVE a tour of Cape Byron Distillery

News Cape Byron Distillery

Team-building with a twist. A visit to the Cape Byron Distillery is a truly unique Byron experience for your delegates.

Brookie’s Gin is distilled by Cape Byron Distillery. It’s yet another example of innovative business in the Byron region. Brookie’s Gin made its remarkable entre into the market through a successful Pozible crowd-funding campaign in 2016.

Their story

Cape Byron Distillery was established in 2016 by Eddie Brook and his family in collaboration with Jim McEwan.

Gin is a new venture for the Brook family, who are more widely known for their popular Brookfarm macadamia and museli products.

Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin is produced at their farm distillery in the hinterland of Byron Bay. The distillery is set in the heart of Brookfarm’s macadamia property surrounded by sub-tropical rainforest – all of which has been regenerated from a bare, run-down farm, purchased over 30 years ago.

Brookie’s Gin started two years ago. Eddie Brook had the privilege of orchestrating a three week, sell out Australian whisky tour with the legendary Master Distiller Jim McEwan (aka ‘The Cask Whisperer’).

As they travelled together a firm friendship developed and many tales were swapped.  Eddie told Jim the story of his family farm, the passion that his Mum and Dad have for rainforest regeneration and how the rainforest that they regenerated is abundant with native fruits and botanicals.

Jim was captivated.  It became clear that they shared similar values and beliefs. A seed was planted and the idea for Cape Byron Distillery and ‘Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin’ was born.

Australian native botanicals

Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin is a true exploration of Australian Native Botanicals unique to the Northern Rivers Region (Byron Bay hinterland), many of which foraged from the heart of our rainforest.

A traditional dry style Gin, Brookie’s is a beautifully balanced combination of the finest traditional and local botanicals, trickle distilled in a custom hand made Copper Pot Still.

From board room to distil room

Cape Byron Distillery is now open for tours and provides the unique opportunity to take delegates out of the boardroom and into the distil-room.

On arrival at Cape Byron Distillery delegates are welcomed to the cellar door with a refreshing Brookie’s Gin & tonic as experienced distillers take them on a journey through the story of Cape Byron Distillery, the Brook family farm and the art of distillation.

The tour then continues outside with a guided tour through the sub-tropical rainforest. This is a truly special experience – to smell, see and touch the botanicals that are used in the gin, learn the history of the Big Scrub Rainforest and be awe inspired by the magnificent place.

After touring the property your delegates will return to the distillery for gin tasting, Brookfarm snacks and a relax on the verandah overlooking the farm. What a way to do team building!
